The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo: Where we live, work, play and stay!
Amalgamated in 1995, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) encompasses the Athabasca oilsands of Alberta.
It is one of the largest municipalities in size in North America and includes the urban service area of Fort McMurray and the hamlets and communities of Fort Chipewyan, the oldest settlement in Alberta, Anzac, Janvier, Conklin, Fort Fitzgerald, Fort MacKay, Draper, Saprae Creek Estates, Gregoire Lake Estates and Mariana Lake.
CUPE 1505 has a 40-year history with the municipality in its evolution from the town of Fort McMurray. CUPE 1505 includes municipal employees and the employees of the Fort McMurray Airport, MacDonald Island Park, Marshall House, Rotary House and Wood Buffalo Housing.
CUPE 1505 would like to thank CAO Glen Laubenstein of the RMWB, COO Tim Reid of MacDonald Island Park and COO Sally Warford of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority for their assistance in helping us feature their employees on this site.
