CUPE 1505 Executive - Alice Lerchs

Alice Lerchs, 55, permanently joined the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) in March, 2001 as a Clerk Typist, although she had worked for the municipality on a temporary basis beforehand since October, 1999.

In August, 2006, Alice moved to Environmental Services from Facilities Maintenance, where she began working at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Alice has been on the Local 1505 executive since June, 2001 and has held a number of positions, including Newletter Editor (two years), Recording Secretary (two years) and Treasurer (two years).  She is currently the Alternate Fort McMurray Area Vice President for Northeast Alberta and the recording secretary for the Alberta Municipal Employees Committee.  She is also a former member of the provincial Global Justice Committee.

Prior to moving to Alberta and the RMWB, Alice lived and worked in ON, where she was an active member of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEH).
